Pretty in Pink...Lips

This post is a review of current pink lipsticks & glosses that recently I have really been using. After seeing a few bloggers with some fabulous bright pink lipsticks I decided to create this post....

My four favourite lipsticks of the moment are above (l to r)
Collection 2000 - Bubblegum
L'Oreal Colour Riche - Burning Rose
No 7 Stay Perfect - Classic Rose
Elizabeth Arden - Blush

The No.7 colour is a more neutral pink, this gives a slight flushed look to the lips, prefect for everyday wear.

The Elizabeth Arden - Blush, has a bright pink hue. This really seems to have a moisturising effect, not only does it add a great vivid colour, but in my opinion nearly has the same effect as the 'Eight Hour Lip Cream' after wearing it for a day!

The L'Oreal colour was the suggested colour for blondes. It has a sparkle to it that adds shine and lustre, but is a slightly redder pink than the other colours. I have found that this really lasts a long time on the lips, however, it is actually quite hard to remove, and even the day after wearing a little colour seems to stain the lips after a days wear.

My favourite pink lipstick!! The Collection 2000 Bubblegum colour! At only £2.99, it has fabulous consistency for the price and although it needs reapplying after drinking and eating at £2.99 I can reapply all I like!

Moving on to the glosses, I have included a range from Vaseline to Lancome...

From left to right:
Vaseline - Rosy lips
Clinique Long Last Glosswear - Kissy Fit
Lancome - Juicy Tubes
Clinique, Superbalm Moisturising Gloss - 01 Apricot

The Vaseline is a handbag staple, not only do I apply it to lips for a smooth gloss look, but also to cheeks to create a dewy rosy colour. The Clinique gloss wear, although wonderfully glossy and a really nice raspberry pink colour, can tend to end up slightly sticky on the lips when wearing rather than glossy. 'Juicy Tubes' by Lancome, are a more translucent colouring, the 'Juicy Tubes' are more for a natural gloss look for everyday rather than a splash of vibrant pink colour. Finally, the second Clinique sample, the moisturising gloss includes an SPF factor 10! Once again, I find the Clinique glosses slightly sticky, but the more peachy tone is excellent for an every day colour!

What pinks do you prefer?

Spring/Summer Trend Alert: Candy Colours!

Looking forward to Spring/Summer I am loving the pastel, candy coloured trend!

Teaming shades of pastel colour together replicating a 'love hearts' sweet look...

The high street stores really seem to have some wonderful buys to make the trend...

An easy way to wear the trend is add it to your nails and continue with your own style, alternatively add a  splash of pastel into your accessories, such as a bag, belt or slipper.

If you dare & want to go all out, clash your pastel colours, team the lemon jeans with the bright pink top & green satchel!

Summer hurry already :)

Todays Treats...Kardashian Kolor

A few days ago I read a post by Laura Sutcliffe about the new Kardashian nail range. Its by OPI's founder Nicole in a few pretty wonderful shades. In Laura's post was a link to the varnishes on asos.com where there is free delivery at the moment too!

Well, today this little wonder arrived...

I purchased 'Kourt is redy-pedi' because I need a classic red, my last Rimmel ran out...and I am not disappointed

The consistency is what you would expect from a product with OPI's name on it, I used two coats, and the varnish is opaque with a glossy finish. I have not yet added a top coat because the polish finish is so high.

An additional bonus to the item is the price, on asos.com at the moment they are £8.50, when compared to the standard OPI product at over £10.00 I cannot see a difference in quality, and the 'Kardashian Kolor' colours are varied to suit all tastes.

Although I find the Kardashian family throughly entertaining and there is no stigma behind buying one of their products for me, the price for an OPI nail varnish should remove any hesitations about buying this!

Oh and on additional note, my Muji 'Fig' candle ran out, so I stocked up with a new 'Fig & Berry' and a rather sweet smelling, 'Caramel & Almond'...they are devine for £3.50!

Pillar Box Red...

A few days ago, I won an Ebay auction for a very fetching Jaeger Pillar Box Red Jacket and this morning the awaited item arrived!

Beautifully tailored, as Jaeger do best, the double breasted style is coat like, yet the fine wool knit is stretchy and thin enough to wear as a blazer. The colour is just exquisite, a statement piece that would brighten up any outfit on a chilly winters day.

Needless to say, I am thoroughly chuffed with my little bargain, because the best bit of all of this is that I won it for a thrifty £8.99!!!

Let's face it Eva Mendes, with a Hollywood career, those looks and Ryan Gosling on her arm she'd make us green with envy even without this wardrobe...

Teaming a fitted green dress with a floral oversized clutch & wine red peep toe heels...

Looking more boho, with loose curls, a coral dress, teamed with cream heels & a grey clutch...a rule of three colours really works for her...

A glamourous prom style dress, peep toe heels, ever the red carpet star...

Airport style...covering tired eyes with oversized frames, adding glam to the off-flight ensemble with heeled boots...

More 'Style Spotlights' next week...

Forgotten Favourites.....

When packing up at holidays to go home from uni, there are a few essentials that I leave behind so they are there upon my return...however, I always seem to forget about a few little gems that I left behind, and can't wait to re-use them when I arrive!

Missoni 'Aqua' perfume, this has such a floral scent and the bottle has the Missoni print on the base that shines through the bottle, its really sweet. I always like using this fragrance and sometimes wonder why I don't always carry it with me!

The student life-saver! After a morning rush, this is the best resolution for hair - I leave it at uni, because at home I am usually more prepared in mornings.

Being up north at uni, the top up of fake tan to have a healthy glow is usually needed. I know some people prefer Lauren's Way or St. Tropez, but for £2.99 from a shop in town,  St. Moritz really does do the job on a student budget!

Paul & Joe primer...I should have taken this home! Its a wonderful product, I pop it on everyday before my full cover of foundation and it really evens out the skin surface for a smooth foundation application, and also creates a barrier between the make up and the skin, making it easier to remove at the end of the day and helping to stop it clogging the pores.

L'Occitane hand cream, the rose range smells devine! After the new shop opened in the Victoria Quarter I cannot get enough of their body & home ranges!

My staple moisturiser! This is my preferred range as it seems to be one of the only moisturisers I can find that is oil free. Not only does it stop my complexion shining by the end of the day, stopping a build up of oil also means grease doesn't clog up pores either.
